Atlantic City?
Is there any real beach there? If so, which resorts have access or are they public? If not, what is a good resort with a nice, big pool area?

Haven't been in years but I used to have a BF whose mom lived over the bridge in Brigantine. I think they have hotels there.

Re: Atlantic City?
Yes, they have a real beach (it's part of jersey shore), which is public right off a big Boardwalk that goes up & down the strip.
No, you won't die in the water (it's the same ocean in jersey.... certainly no Caribbean, but pretty much a northeast beach). I've swam & so have the kids. Most of the time we stay close to shore, but that's because of waves (my kids are little).
Most hotels on the boardwalk will have a pool & easy access to Boardwalk. My fav was Revel, but it closed last year. Borgata has a decent pool but is off Boardwalk. Chelsea hotel is not a casino & pretty nice. They have an indoor & outdoor pool. Also have stayed at tropicana. Not a great pool... But it is fun.
