At what age did your DC sit up...

I was just wondering because DS is 7 months old and is not sitting up? Is it normal? Is there anything I can to help encourage him to learn how to sit up?

Emma was 4 months and Jeremy was 5 months. Tummy time is really the only thing that builds the stomach muscles.

DD is almost 7 months and she just started sitting up for an extended period by herself. I "practiced" with her several times a day and at first she protested but now she tolerates it. She still prefers to play on the floor lying down but she will sit up and play for awhile. She starts to cry when she wants to lie down. I wouldn't worry about DC not sitting yet.

DD was sitting "tripod style" all by herself since 3 1/2 months. On Christmas day (5 days shy of 5 months old) she started suitting with no hands. My DS wasn't even close by 4 1/2 months old. Every baby is different.

My DS was before 6 months and my DD was between 6-7 months.

Give him more tummy time. My girls were sitting up and crawling before they were 7 months. I gave them 15 minutes 3 times a day.

Somewhere b/w 6 and 7 mos. Keep having him sit. You can sit around him with your legs spread so that there is something to catch him if he falls over but yet he is still sitting by himself so he gets the hang of it or let him sit up on the floor with the boppy around his sides for support but freedom. he'll get the hang of it.

DS sat up around 4.5 months.
I use to sit with him between my legs. Eventually he started doing it on his own.

I think Ava really mastered it like a month ago, so a little before 6 months?

He was sitting comfortably without falling at all at about 6 months.

hannah is just starting to do this. she still needs the boppy to help in case she falls. she is 7 months, but her adjusted age is really 6 months.

Andrew still isn't and he is 7 months old. I give him tons of tummy time so that is not our problem here

It's funny cuz when I put him on the changing table he can sit up for like 1 minute but on any other surface he really. The most he can do is a few seconds. I give him tummy time. What he does when he's lying down sometimes is he lifts his head up.

I do have the boppy which I don't use much but I will start using it more now.

Michael was sitting up pretty well when propped in the boppy at about 6 months... at 8 months he was able to get to the sitting position by himself.
