At what age did you give Benadryl
DD is 4 months old. She has been congested and not sleeping well for the past three nights. The oed recommended that I give her Benadryl to help dry up her mucous and help her sleep. I'm not sure how I feel about it. If you remember, at what age (if at all) did you give your DC Benadryl.

first time was almost 3 yr old, for an allergy reaction. When they had congestion like yours child has.. i would run the shower and create a steam room. Sit with them in there, then use nose suckie, and elevate mattress. Also could add a humidifier for room. Im not into giving meds right away unless last resort.

I know I gave it at 6 months, it was either 1/4 or 1/2 a teaspoon. It was for an allergy.
I am a fan of vick's plug in vapor things, a humidifier and saline drops (I prefer the saline spray). That combo seemed to help my kids pretty fast.

No that young. I would steam up the shower and stay in there with her, prop up her crib and get a humidifier. I didn't give ds beny until he was like 14 months, and it was minimal. I think it's too much for a four month old. Jmo.

sorry but no drugs till after 6m at the LEAST. For AJ she was over 1 before she got benadryl. Which didn't work well for her anyway and she uses claritin now.
Elevate, vapor rub (they make some for babies over 3mo), suction, humidifer, nasal drops and a lot of love 
Those were the WORST nights ever by far for us. I remember once propping her up to a complete sitting position with pillows and my body as a brace so she could grap a few hours of sleep then she'd cry, we'll steam her up, rock her, soothe her and when exhaustion took over we'd prop her up and start all over again.

i dont remember exactly how old, shes 2 now- and her doctor def had me give it to her at a young age- i think even before 1, always listen to your doctor, he knows best

I gave DS Benadryl back in Sept. for his allergies. I gave him 1/4 of a teaspoon. It made him hyper....But it did take care of his allergies....He was 10 months old. If the dr said it is ok to give it to her, then I would.
