Yes. Everyone tips the title person. I think we did either $100 or $150 (cash)--your lawyer should tell you the recommended amount.
Does this mean good news!?

i am glad we didn't tip our title person, we didn't know our lawyer picks the title company and he picked a title company that charges 2X's the going rate and the only reason we found out we were charged so much is our mortgage broker is my BIL and he was astonished we didn't complain to our lawyer over the charges.
Also, our title company never informed us of the fact we needed to bring 5K for taxes until we showed up that day. So we had to ask them not to cash the check until the following week when we cashed bonds.

I don't think we tipped anyone. We didn't have a title person there though-Just us, our realtor, our lawyer and the sellers (they were FSBO).

We tipped the title person and would not have even known it, our lawyer put it into our closing estimate. If I was carefully examining closing costs I would have never known.
