Aspirator
DD has her first cold. I tried aspirating her nose this morning and I really had trouble getting it in her nose. Her nostrils are really small and to get it in there I have to really force it in. I mean twist and push! Now the openings are red and they weren't before. Is this normal? Should I look for one with a smaller opening? Do they even come in different sizes? I feel like these are silly questions but I really have no knowledge about these things. I feel like DD was violated this morning.

Aspirator
I didn't think it was really suppose to be inserted into the nose. I have used a few saline drops and then try to suck up whatever I can without putting it in his nose.

We use ayr baby saline spray and then the nose frida. I don't out it up her nose, just slightly and and I'm able to suck a lot of snot out. Yummmmm. But it works and clears her out and she doesn't mind it.

I love the battery operated one from graco. They sell it at BRU along with the saline nose spray.

This! I have the Nasa Kleen Nasal Aspirator which is like the nosefrida. So much better than the bulb shaped aspirators!

Re: Aspirator
I've also used the Nose Freida and I place it up against DD's nose, not in. She hates it regardless, but it gets the job done.

Definitely get the Nose Frida. Spray with saline spray prior to aspirating to loosen everything up.
