Asking for prayers
Just asking for prayers from some old friends.
My son, Tyler Shea, was conceived via IVF and born at 30w4d on March 28th. He was doing ok in the NICU at South Nassau, gaining weight slowly and tolerating feedings. Until last night, when I got a call from the neonatologist at S. nassau asking me to come up quickly to the Hospital. Tyler started having bloody stools and had to be transferred to Cohen's Children's Hospital in New Hyde Park.
He was diagnosed this morning with stage 1 NEC, a very serious infection of the intestines. They are trying to treat this with antibiotics, but of that doesn't work, they will have to perform surgery, which does not have a good prognosis.
DH and I are scared, tired, crushed and just hoping to wake up from this nightmare. we had him baptized in the Hospital this morning.
Please pray for us and our son, Tyler Shea, who we already love more than we ever thought possible.

my daughter was also a preemie and was in Cohen's NICU for a month, it is one of the highest level NICUs in the state.
i live walking distance to there. if you need anything, i mean ANYTHING, a bathroom, a sandwich, a hug... PLEASE SEND ME AN FM!!
