Asbestos removal?

We found a house that just has Asbestos wrappings on the heating. How much do you think to remove? We will factor this in with our offer.

I am not sure but I am going to guess that it will cost a small fortune. We had the same problem and we asked our Seller to have it removed (or encapsulated) before we signed the contract. They had it removed. I think you're better off having them to do it rather than having to hire someone yourselves. Good Luck.

from looking around i see some places it's $500 but can go up to $5,000 and some charge a flat fee for 1k just to walk in. I guess if they accept our offer I will just have to pick a company with a free estimate to come in and zero in after the engineer.

We just had asbestos removed from out basement- it was wrapped around a 15 foot pipe and was also in part of a wall. Cost us $1200 for the work and $150 for the permit.

It was about $3k to remove the asbestos that was wrapped around our pipes in the basement. The sellers handled it by bringing in a licensed removal professional and providing us with the receipts, reports back from the EPA etc.

We had asbetos removed when we moved in. It cost about $400 and it was not even a 1 foot that was there, but they charge you a flat rate most of the time.
