As a saftety measure
can you just give your dogs that worm meds in like Petco or any pet stores. I see the deworm pills and other things for worms and wonder if I can just give it to her every couple of months for a safety cleaning inside or should she be dx first as having worms.

Re: As a saftety measure
I wouldn't give my dogs meds without a diagnosis from a vet. It's not safe and I don't know if the dog (or worms) could build up a resistance to the meds.
Besides, puppies are generally only susceptible to worms in their first year.

I would not give my dogs something from there. I let them get checked out by the vet.

No, you definitely need to get a diagnosis. Any meds taken should be under the advisement of a Vet.

Re: As a saftety measure
I would not. If you dog doesn't have worms according to the vet, he/she may never have worms so there is no need to do this, no way.
