Are you sensitive when people make fun of the baby already?
This is going to sound SO SILLY and stupid but I get really sensitive when people make fun of the baby. DH and his brother were born with big heads (but so cute  ) and BIL's wife ALWAYS has to point out the baby's head in the sonograms and say how big it looks. She even points it out to other people.
And, she ALWAYS has to make a point to say that the I****** men only make girls, they can't make a boy ( she has three girls ). Which is so strange because she makes it sound like an insult but they are HER girls.
Oh and before someone says it, I know if my family or friends said teh same stuff I wouldnt care.

honestly I wouldn't be too thrilled with her comments either....so I can see where you're coming from

I am sensitive about the baby and my DS. When MIL says DS looks only like DH I get so angry, because I know she's saying it to hurt me, but when a stranger says it I love it lol. When my ILs say they hope this baby is a girl ((which it is, but they won't find out till she is here)) I cringe, but it didn't bother me when DH or my brother said they wanted a girl.
I think it comes down to HOW these people say things. I know my family doesn't mean it in a bad way, whereas I know my ILs say it in a nasty way.
And I hope you have a boy so you can throw it in her face hahaha .. I'm mean .. but no really, I don't understand the need for people to talk about the sex of a baby in any condescending way... and tell her that your baby does in fact have a big head, because the baby is a genius!

One comment wouldn't bother me, but constant comments would drive me insane and push me over the edge.

A comment here and there wouldn't bother me too much, but I've been hearing that he's gonna be a big boy and such, and that's starting to bother me. Don't really know why... but everyone saying they want to meet their big boy...and that annoys me. He's only going to be about high 8s or low 9... my neice was born at 10lbs and she's soo small now...11 years later.

I think its the comments from THIS woman that bother you. I think everyone has one of those people.
I know it's hard to not let it bother you. If you want it to stop, you'll have to say something witty back, or call her on her comments. Make her feel stupid for making fun of her children, and for diminishing the fact they are girls.

Totally depends on who is making the comment. For me, people don't comment so much on her looks (as we don't have great sono pics) but her behavior (which is to make fun of me). I think it depends on the context and who is delivering the message-KWIM? I would be pizzed too due to how she said it.

depends on who it comes from...I dont' have a SIL...so I don't know that relationship..
I would be annoyed with her too tho. It's rude and uncalled for! I really hope you have a boy!! I'd have to say something tho.

i know exactly what you mean! my MIL says stupid things and i used to get ****** until i turned around and put her in her place. now she says nada.
