Not one bit.
The majority of my clothing is from TJ Maxx, Marshalls, or NY&Co...if the things from NY&Co just happen to be designer, well then, I guess I own some labels! I have a beautiful Michael Kors coat that I bought at Marshall's for $8 last March. Whether it was Michael Kors or not, it was still a beautiful coat, and it was MINE for $8! 
eta: I like a quality product, regardless of who makes it. I have some no-name leather boots made w/ brazilian leather, and OMG they're BUTTA.

oh! marshalls and TJ Maxx are the best, they carry all the expensive brands for 1/2 price! I love thise 2 stores

Not all all.
The best made clothing I have ever owned is Lands End stuff. Ok, they make sportswear, but their sportswear is better made than anything else I've ever owned or seen.
So I don't think "labels" always = good quality.
