Re: are iui's........
I just had my first one (last month- unsuccessful) and it was nothing. it's very similar to a gyn exam/pap smear but I found it less uncomfortable.
Good luck!!

Re: are iui's........
I found it to be very painless. I went into a room and like others said, felt like I was having a pap smear. I laid on the table for about 20 minutes afterwards. Once I got up, I was fine! no pain, no discomfort. I think the whole thing took less than 5 minutes.

Re: are iui's........
Quick and painless! It was almost a "non-event." Somehow I thought it would be a bigger deal than it was.

Re: are iui's........
i am pretty sensitive, have had 2 IUIs and thought they were pretty painless. the procedure is also very quick. the longest part is waiting to go in and then they have you lie on the table afterwards for 10 min or so.

Re: are iui's........
Like the other ladies said, IUIs are painless. It is just like a pap smear, maybe a couple of seconds longer. I did have a little more cramping after the IUI than I do with a pap smear, but that could be because of the clomid/HCG shot. Nothing painful though

Re: are iui's........
They are not so much painful as slightly uncomforatble. If you are tilted or tense at all you feel it more. It's pretty quick and nothing to worry about. FM me if you want a play by play (-:

Not painful at all! But, I hope you don't even need to find out first hand that it isn't painful!

Re: are iui's........
I had three IUI's done. The first one I barley felt a thing very similar to a pap smear. The second time I had two done back to back. Those two I felt a little cramping like I had my period while it was being done. After I felt nothing. Now the third one I had a lot of cramping incomparison to the the others. However it felt like period cramps on my first day. And afterwards I felt very sore for two days. I don't know if it was the person who did it or what. I should add that she told me that cramping was normal and light bleeding for a day, she said to take extra strength tylenol if it was really bad. I didn't have to take tylenol.
But keep in mind that I am very aware of my body and I am a giant baby when it comes to pain.
