Re: Are bridal showers appropriate for kids?
I guess it depends on what kind of bridal shower it is since I've heard of like "lingerie" showers etc.
Mine was pretty tame, it was just a nice brunch so my niece and flower girl was there and was awesome. She was a bit over 2 at the time.

If I had to open up sex toys at my bridal shower I would have been in tears! yikes LOL
I had tons of kids at my shower, its fine!

Me too! I was embarrassed enough being the center of attention opening "boring" gifts like bread machines and plates. I can't even imagine opening sex toys in front of my grandmother...

Re: Are bridal showers appropriate for kids?
There are always a few younger girls at our families bridal showers (around 3yrs-10yrs i'd say). They have a great time and love being there. There have never ever been any problems.

Because bachelorette parties have become more the norm today, I think bridal showers have become more appropriate without naughty gifts.
I feel like years ago no one did such elaborate bach parties and that is why there would be "dirty" gifts at the bridal shower.
I've been to so many showers in the past few years and not a single one had "adult" gifts. Those were saved for the bach. party.
The 2 girls being there will be fine!
ETA: If she was invited, then that means the bride-to-be wants her there and she should go! I've usually only seen kids that are part of the BP at showers.

Re: Are bridal showers appropriate for kids?
I remember going to my aunt's when I was a little girl and having so much fun. I am hoping that my soon-to-be niece has the same experience at mine in June! I would be so sad if she didn't go!
Bring her if the bride wants kids there!
Hopefully whoever decides to bring a naughty gift has enough discretion to notice a child there and give the gift to the bride at the end or in private.

Re: Are bridal showers appropriate for kids?
I've always taken my DD (now 3.5 yo) with me to both bridal showers and baby showers. She's always very well behaved and has always been more than welcome to be there. Even if someone got an "inappropriate" gift she wouldn't even have a clue so what's the big deal?

Yes. And so what if some undies or whatever are opened. I always find the kids look away. It's not like someone is going to give you something crotchless.

Re: Are bridal showers appropriate for kids?
I think its totally fine for you to bring your DD especially since she is in the bridal party. She's 7 so it's not like she'll be running all over. Me personally, I wouldn't bring my 2 year old ds because he's a crazy little monkey
