Architect question
How does this work?! So we are seriously considering taking MIL's house. We have some contractor estimates lined up for a complete demo/remodel. However I'm curious if we could expand the home as well. One contractor said we needed an architect to draw up plans for what we expansions we want to do... ok. NP...
Do I just find one and ask for that how does this work? Do they have to be local? Can I use a recommendation from LIF even though the home is in the Bronx?
Any help is appreciated... Thanks!

Architect question
I would ask the contractors who they recommend - we found a great architect from using a contractor recommendation.
We ended up using a different contractor from the one that recommended the architect - there were some growing pains (since they hadn't worked together before) but, it worked out fine.
