April Fools Day questions - best and worst!
what was the best April Fools Day prank you ever did or were a part of or witnessed or even heard about?
what was the worst?
In 98 or 99 when I was going to school in Geneseo, I always listened to NPR to go to/from LI, or to/from Albany where my bf went. So I was listening on April 1st and there was a report on about selling advertising space on the moon. They talked about how only advertisers with a recognizeable symbol could do it, i.e. Nike, McDonalds, etc.
So it went on and on and they had 'experts' and NASA and all this other hullabaloo and stupid me believed them (I just didn't believe NPR would pull an April Fools joke - keep in mind I was a 19 yr old naive kid). I went around telling all my friends too.
I reluctantly believed them, but had a lot of faith in NPR... I tried searching and searching to see if it was a hoax and finally found a small blurb saying it was. They totally got me.
eta: I don't have a worst.

My mom pulled an April Fools joke that backfired on her.
She received a phone call and my dad asked who it was. She said the gyno. He asked if everything was ok. She said yes, but she had news, she was pregnant. My dad was like  and was concerned that they couldn't afford a third child at the time. My mom went the whole day letting my dad believe this. Finally at dinner, she told him April Fools, and he was actually  upset about it. But she was so happy with herself that she pulled one over on him.
A week later, my mom found out that she really WAS pregnant. Now, every year on April Fools day, we all call my mom and make fun of her. My sister is known as the April Fools baby.

I was going to post about one I heard today but I figured it would be moved to Entertainment and be lost forever. Mine is from the radio too.
Anyway it was the WORST one ever.
On 101.9 RXP Matt Pinfield does the morning show. Today the producer of the show asked Matt and Leslie (his co-host) if he could play one of his new favorite songs on the radio. Matt agreed and played the song. The song was "Beat Her With a Rake" by the Weasels the lyrics are "beat her with a rake make her pay for her mistake" mid song Matt Pinfield turns it off and starts screaming at his producer for playing it. The producer is then kicked out of the studio. Matt keeps saying how furious he is and is taking phone calls from listeners to hear what they have to say. One lady called in saying the producer should have to volunteer at a battered women's shelter, people were saying it was gross to play that, a few said it wasn't a big deal compared to a Nirvana song (Polly) they play all the time. The whole time Matt is going on and on and ONNNNN about how awful domestic abuse is. At around 9 another lady calls in to say how awful the song and at this point Matt tells her April Fools. Then the producer comes back on the air and they all laugh and are so proud that they "got" everyone.
I usually laugh at anything and everything. The more politically incorrect the joke the funnier I think it is but this wasn't even funny. I just thought it was the lamest thing I ever spent 30 minutes listening too. I wish I had my drive to work back so I could listen to a cd!

Okay last April Fool's was my worst one ever. I got a picture of a positive pregnancy test and texted it to DH.
He knew it was a joke almost immediately, after he calmed down BUT he was FURIOUS. I mean for over a week - it was horrible living in my house and I was in tears almost every day!
Um, I guess he isn't ready for kids?

ugh! the worst was in middle school... a friend brought in some brownies with her lunch, and asked me if i wanted one... i took one, and tasted something crunchy in it. some people put nuts in their brownies, so i didn't think too much of it at first, just kept eating. THEN when i was like more than halfway through, she asked me how they were with this smile on her face and i knew something was up. she starts laughing and told me she had put CAT FOOD in them!!  i didn't get sick or anything, but i definitely felt "off" for the rest of the day....

My mom got me good when I was about 20.
I was dating a guy from the Bronx. Just the night before, he had brought me to his neighborhood. It was "hard core" and when I came home I told my mom that it was a really tough neighborhood.
So my mom goes upstairs to my grandmas house and calls me. I answer and she put son this Rosie Perez sounding voice telling me to stay out of the Bronx and away from "Charlie." Hes her man and if I come back she will kick my a ss. I tried to act all tough on the phone but the second I hung up, I was hysterical. Just as I picked up the phone to call this guy..my mom came rushing through the door to tell me the truth. It was so awful.
Another one..I had just gotten my toy poodle puppy Murphy. Well I had no idea their testicles pop out at a certain point and was shocked by the site of them. My mom and huisband thought it was amusing to tell me something happened and they fell off! Pretty far fetched I know but they took chestnuts and put ketchup all over them and put them in the middle of the floor. I FREAKED OUT. Screaming and crying, I thought my dog was dead. Really mean and dumb of me to believe, but I did.

I've always liked Google's photos of the moon. Zoom all the way in and you'll get really good details of the moon's surface.

I pulled this same joke on DH (then bf)and my sister one year. And had the exact same outcome.. a few weeks later I found out I really was. I had actually been pregnant when I pulled this joke, I just didn't know it yet  .

I found out last April fools day that I was having twins.....everyone knew I was already pregnant but we saw two on April fools.....no one believed me because of the day and it was kinda aggrivating
