Appraisal question
How much does a appraisal usally cost?? We just got charged 525 for ours and that seems kinda high to me... Am i wrong?

bethpage charged me $350
just had one done today with wells fargo and they charge me $450
that sounds a little high

Mine was free.  I'm a member of a union and Chase has a special program with unions to reduce closing costs.
But it would have been somewhere in the high 300's - I forget the exact cost.

an average appraisal should cost $300-375+. There are exceptions, and I've been paid as much as $1000 for an appraisal.
some things that *could* affect the fee:
two family property
waterfront location
high value $1M+
rush fees
pre-construction appraisal using specs/plans
those are just a few examples...
