Definitely bizarre.
Things should get really interesting now with women BFing their 6 year olds and up.

I think it's a bit much. I could see into toddlerhood but that's about it for me. I personally think that age 2 would be my max if push came to shove.

ETA: I should add that my first DD was EBF until 11.5 months but if she were interested I would have continued probably up until 2.

I agree!! I will go up to age 2 max if it works! Seeing an 8 year old asking for her mothers milk was a lil odd!!

That woman was definately a few fries short of a happy meal. It is sad that a woman has to use a doll to fill a void of not having a child. She said that she looked into adopting, but it was too expensive between traveling, etc. What about trying to become a foster parent? I don't know, she just creeped me out. Those dolls were creepy too.

Re: Anyone watching 20/20

The segment on the breastfeeding was odd as well. Like the previous poster wrote that you can understand BF-ing to toddlerhood (I plan on BF-ing until DD is at least a year old), but when you have a kid who can literally eat a steak, its just too weird.

Re: Anyone watching 20/20

This was originally supposed to be on weeks ago- and I think they postponed it after the Caylee Anthony story blew up and I have been WAITING for it to come back.

Such an interesting show!!

Some of these people are totally sick-- the Reborn doll people, are CRAZY...

And the Breastfeeding moms, errr... AWKWARD. I can understand to an extent BFing occassionally up to a certain point, but a 6 or 8 year old, is just disturbing IMO. I would be VERY interested to see any research on these kids in several years to see how this has affected them into adulthood. I was amazed to find out the average age of weaning a child is 4 years old worldwide.

The ****** thing during pregnancy--- the only thing I could think about is it's making something that is supposed to be NOT sexual, sexual-- and I think that is one of the biggest hurdles mom's face-- putting our va-jayjays into two distinct categories. I can understand a mind over matter thing dealing with the pain of natural child birth, but all in all-- I found this one disturbing as well. Also, these poor kids-- knowing that their mom's had intense orgasms while birthing them (at least the ones in the documentary)-- I would be SO Chat Icon.

Re: Anyone watching 20/20

the whole episode was out there.

Ok, orgasms during labor, I can't imagine feeling turned on at that moment.

Doll ladies, very creepy!!!

Breastfeeding an 8 year old is wrong in my book.

I watched it too, even though I was trying not to fall asleep, lol.

The dolls were creepy

O's during birth, can't imagine that

BFing till 8, that totally disgusted me. I BF my son till he was 16 months and sometimes I think that was a little too long for me, I have no problems with BFing till they are toddlers but till 7 or 8 Chat Icon

Re: Anyone watching 20/20

I taped it and just finished watching...ugh.

OK the "o" during childbirth..these women are from ANOTHER PLANET. When a 7 pound being is coming through your hoohaa, the last thing you feel is "ecstacy". Granted I had a HELL of an epidural and didn't feel a thing but when it wore off I certainly did!! Whatever.

The reborn babies..I found it very sad actually. I felt the one woman wanted kids and never had them, so filled that void with a doll. How odd to take the doll out though and tell people "oh she's a month old"...Am I the only one who doesn't even think they look THAT real?? I could tell it was a doll in a heartbeat...

And the extended breastfeeding thing...I don't understand it. I think it is the MOTHERS who can't detach from it, not the kids. Kids will wean from anything and forget about it if you make it happen. An 8 year old should never be demanding breastmilk. And the 6 year old boy who said he'll go till he's 9...ugh...

i know in some countries it may be the norm but I would think when its nutritionally necessary only. These kids can pour a glass of milk and move on...and I can't believe these women don't want their bodies back after all this time?!?!

Re: Anyone watching 20/20

Uggh that whole show turned me off; especially the rent a womb lady. Making $25-30K per pregnancy, and she's had 12 and counting. But she doesn't do it for the money.
