Anyone used La Leche for BFing support?

If so, could you give me some feedback if you liked it, did not like it and why.

My sister is a leader, so I had her support 24-7

I went to a few of her meetings and thought they were really great. I'm not sure how other's are run, but I felt so comfortable being there with other woman going through the same things I was, having the same fears, worries, doubts, etc. and everyone was SO friendly and helpful.

NO judgement AT ALL.

yup!!! I started going to meetings when I was 30 weeks pg to make sure I liked the group and to meet the leaders. I was worried they were going to be BFing nazis but they are totally cool and opened minded.

My leaders provided A LOT of emotional support and help when I had Alexa. She didn't latch until she was 7W 5 D. One of the leaders even came to my house to help me.

The are an AMAZING SOURCE of support and knowledge and most leaders are better then ANY lactation consultant I ever met. It takes a few years for someone to become a LLL Leader because of all the training courses they need to attend and best of all its FREE!

my sister is part of a league in NYC and she loves them. I also have a friend who has a league in Malverne and she loves them. I have yet to hear any bad rep.
