Anyone use Earth's Best infant formula? Also a Soy vs Regular question
Is it good?
I bought both because I didn't know which kind I wanted to use knowing I could return one.
I would prefer to use the soy, because I am a vegetarian and just feel better about it. But isn't there something to do with soy???
I think I might try an ounce tonight mixed in a bottle of BM.

I wouldn't use soy because of all the controversy with the amount of extra estrogen with it and my ped and LC said the same thing but you do what feels right to you
I also recommend you DON't mix it with BM

I did use Similac Organic when I was supplementing when I went back to work. However, I read somewhere that you shouldn't mix the BM & formula, and the reason why made sense to me: give the pumped BM first, then top baby off with formula. Otherwise, if baby doesn't finish the bottle, you're wasting breastmilk, which always pained me to waste. This way, DD would finish all the BM and if she didn''t finish all the formula, I wasn't upset about pouring the "good stuff" down the drain.

did you do this from the beginning, or start after EBF?
How many oz of formula did you try at first?

um - Emma's on soy and is doing VERY well on it.
I don't know what the issue is with it - but she's happy on it. Our doc said that she may have, not an allergy to milk - but a sensitivity and that we'll keep her on the soy and eventually re-introduce milk...

No, I EBF for the first 10 weeks, then slowly started introducing formula in preparation of my return to work at 12 weeks (I knew I could only pump once/day at work and my supply wouldn't keep up). We started slowly with formula, b/c she wasn't having any medical issues so I didn't need to hurry it. I think we probably started with 1-2 ounces of formula after she finished the pumped BM. Then gradually increased the ounces over the next few days. Even when I was back to work, most bottles she got was still BM first, then formula (sometimes full bottles of BM); I BF until she was 8 months, part-time at that point.
