Anyone sleep with earplugs?
I have been sleeping with earplugs for almost 15 years. I started b/c I shared a room with my sister and she snored. So I really have just gotten so used to them, that I really can't sleep without them. DH doesn't really snore, but he is a very heavy breather. So now with 9 wks, to go, I am trying to figure out what I am going to do when arrives. I can't be wearing earplugs to bed! Any suggestions as I know my sleep is going to be very important!

I have this same problem! I also welcome the suggestions. I was going to try sleeping without them for a few weeks before the baby's due but here I am at 38 weeks still wearing my plugs.
Maybe try falling asleep with the TV on?

Re: Anyone sleep with earplugs?
I sleep with earplugs because my darling DH is a big time snorer. I haven't thought about this! It is weird though because I sleep with them but end of taking them out in my sleep at some point during the night. I guess I have to start practicing sleeping without them. OH Boy!
I think they make earplugs that don't block out as much noise. Maybe try those for like a week and see what you can hear.

Re: Anyone sleep with earplugs?
I tried earplugs once, but it just amplified the ringing I have in my ears, so it made me go crazy. So I went the opposite way and got a white noise sound machine. Maybe that would work?

Re: Anyone sleep with earplugs?
Ok, so I happend upon this post and I hope that I can help.
Now, when DS was first born, I had DH sleep in another room altogether. He's a big time snorer and it was the only way to get any sleep.
As DS got older (he's almost 11 months), I had to put the plugs back in (and the DH in the bed again), but believe it or not, with the ear plugs, I can STILL hear DS.
Also, his monitor lights up when he moves, so I also notice that in the middle of the night.
In my nine months on this board last year, no one brought this up, so I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one.
HTH!

I sleep with them since DH is a big snorer. I still wear them and I always hear DS through the monitor

Re: Anyone sleep with earplugs?
Wow! I am shocked and relieved to know that I'm not the only closet ear-plugs devotee! I cannot sleep without them. My hubby snores and we live on a street with steady traffic through the night, so it always keeps me up.
I have been wondering the same thing about how I'm going to wean myself off them. I hope that just knowing that DC is in the next room (or right beside me at the beginning) will be enough to break the habit, but we'll see!
Glad to hear that a couple of ladies can still hear their babies through the ear plugs!

I agree - I am hoping that I will be able to hear the baby in the bassinett next to me, if not DH will hear her. I love that so many ladies wear earplugs! DH thinks I am a freak and I just called him to tell him that I am not alone and that there are many of us earplug obsessed women out there!
