anyone refuse genetic testing?
I just turned 35 and decided not to do any genetic testing. Am I the only one? It seems like my Dr. was looking at me like I had two heads because we decided not to do it..

I'm 39 and made it clear to my OB that I wouldn't do any testing outside of the normal blood tests (AFP, etc.). But then I had my NT scan and my numbers were extremely high, indicating a good possibility there was a chromosomal abnormality. So I had the CVS test done at 12 weeks. All came back normal though. I don't think I will do amnio unless my early anatomy scan at 16 weeks warrants it. I was planning on it, but when it came down to it, I needed to know and felt better doing it.

I didn't do the NT or the test at 20 weeks. My dr, actually talked me out of it.
ETA: I've had a zillion sonos, all 3D. It's just how my OB does things.

i am 37 and the only thing we did do was the NT scan- and we pretty much only did that because it was a sono and we wanted to see the baby.

I'm 43 and only did the NT screening and AFP. We knew before we got pregnant that we didn't want to do the amnio or CVS testing.

We didn't have it done. Either way we figured we would love the baby the same...so why go through all of that when we don't have to?
