Anyone recently have central air installed?
In a regular one story ranch?

I had CAC installed last year in our colonial.
I highly recommend US Air Conditioning and Heating out of PJS.

I have an appointment with them this week, and so far I have heard nothing but good things about them.
they are also on the list of approved LIPA vendors so you could get the LIPA rebates if you install one of the models approved.

I had CAC installed in my high ranch but only on the top level since the downstairs never gets warm and it was $13K. I'm in Westchester so recommending the company wouldn't be relevant even though they were GREAT

We have central air already in our ranch but were quoted $10,000 to upgrade to a more energy efficient system, so I would imagine $13-15,000 for initial install.

We replaced our whole systems (did not touch already existing duct work) last fall, changed to a 16+ seer unit (amada - I think) and moved the outside unit to the other part of the house for about $6K.
My friend is getting estimates for hers and they are 10-15K.
