if you had central air installed...

how long did it take them to get back to you with a final price quote/plan??
we are looking to get CA installed soon. we would need all of the duct work, etc. we live in NJ and last week we had 4 guys from 4 diferent companies come to look around our house, meausre, etc. they all said they would write up a final price/plan and mail it to us. Well, its been over a week and we haven't heard back from ANY of them!!
i just think its weird that in this economy we're basically telling them " we want to give you $10,000" ( or more!!) but they don't get back to us! the one guy said he would e-mail the stuff to us, but we haven't heard anything.
i just wanted to know if this time frame was "normal" or what. its annoying because we're ready to make a decision on it and want to have it put in the first week of april while i'm home on spring break.... but we don't have the info to go by!

We had 3 quotes when we installed central air (back in 2006). They came to our house, measured, looked around and sat with us and pretty much gave us "estimates" right then and there. When we decided who to go with and called them, we discussed the details and got a wirtten quote and contract in the mail in a few days.

I don't remember how long it took, but I am in NJ and I used Air Group...I have been very happy with them.
