Anyone prefer C-Section to V birth?
I just told a co-worker about this. I had an amazing c-section experience.

Anyone prefer C-Section to V birth?
I had both. I had a NVD with my first daughter and I was miserable!!! Hated it and I had so many problems after including nerve damage (yeah, you can only imagine lol) and with my younger daughter I had an emergency c-section at 29 weeks and I'd take that recovery any day!!! 10 days later I was walking around the mall just fine, lol.
Everyone's experience is different, I'm sure. I am pregnant with twins and will most likely have to be a section BUT even if this was a singleton pregnancy I'd still personally opt for a c section.
Good luck to you :)

Re: Anyone prefer C-Section to V birth?
I never had a vaginal delivery, but had a c-section with my DD (after a day of labor and failed induction), and had an awesome recovery. I didn't need anything stronger than the Motrin for pain. I was up and walking as soon as allowed and I'm opting for a repeat C this time even though I could have a VBAC if I wanted.

Re: Anyone prefer C-Section to V birth?
I had 2 C-sections, both were horrible and the recovery sucks. Major abdominal surgery is NO fun. If I had the choice, I would have preferred a vaginal birth.

I had a failed induction and needed a csection. I would have absolutely preferred to have a vaginal delivery. A csection is major surgery. If it needs to be done it is what it is but I wouldnt have opted for it.

Anyone prefer C-Section to V birth?
I had an emergency c with my son at 30weeks. My recovery wasn't that bad. I'm having a repeat C this time, with twins, but I may have gone for the repeat C even if VBAC was an option.
It is major surgery, but I was ok after a couple days

Not btdt but I'd prefer to have a vaginal birth as opposed to major abdominal surgery if I had the preference.

Re: Anyone prefer C-Section to V birth?
I've never had a vaginal birth. I've had 2 c-sections. They really weren't that bad. Certainly not as bad as I was expecting.
That said, if I had the choice I think I'd prefer a vaginal birth. As others have said the surgery is no joke. And there's no guarantee that you will have a good recovery. I suppose that could happen either way, but I'm sure the type and frequency of complications is much more numerous with sections.

I had an emergency Csection the first time and I honestly don't have any desire for a VBAC...I know when I will go (knock on wood, barring any issues) and I anticipate that without any other issues, it will go more smoothly..

Re: Anyone prefer C-Section to V birth?
I only had a vaginal delivery so I can't speak to c-section but lets just say the recovery for a natural birth was much harder than I anticipated. it may not be as bad as recovering from the surgery of a C but it was a solid 2-3 weeks before I felt sort of back to normal. I had a significant tear (and no epi because labor went too quickly) so maybe I had a rougher go of it than others but it wasn't the walk in the park that many people made it out to be. I was probably very naive going into the whole thing and was a bit traumatized from the delivery so I didn't really know what to expect afterwards. no one really talks about the recovery as much as the pregnancy.

Re: Anyone prefer C-Section to V birth?
Just think of it this way: if the Drs decide you need a C, then that is what's best for and your LO. And while others have pointed that it major abdominal surgery, with a risk of complications, there are also many complications that can arise from a Vaginal delivery... My cousin tore so bad that she needed a ton of stitches and had incontinence issues after for months...my hospital roommate when I had DD had hours of labor, the baby was almost out when they realized she was FACE first and then rushed her off for a C...she was in excruciating from the labor with her baby's head the wrong way and the baby was all bruised and had to spend time in the NICU.
I was anti c-sections before I wound up with one...it was practically a breeze compared to vaginal deliveries I've heard about and I was walking around better than a lot of the women who had vaginals around me. So if you need one, its definitely not the worst thing in the world...especially if its scheduled and you don't have labor first! Good luck!

Anyone prefer C-Section to V birth?
I wanted a section with my ds but was going with whatever happens happen. We tried for a vaginal but my DS was not budging. So I had a csection after 11 hrs of labor. I had an amazing recovery and lived that I ended up with a section. I got 8 weeks home with ds and think I recovered better than some v births from what I hear.
I would have another one in a heartbeat.

Re: Anyone prefer C-Section to V birth?
I never had a C section, but had two vaginial births. I see some had a really hard time with recovery from there first pregnancy. The same was true for me. It took a long time to feel normal down there again. It was a bit painful. More then I was expecting.
Now vaginial delivery number two. My recovery was super quick. I was walking around feeling fine the next day. I would say by a week after, I felt pretty much back to normal.
I have heard horror stories with C-sections and others that had no complications and had easy recoverys. Every vaginal and C-section are so different.

Re: Anyone prefer C-Section to V birth?
i've had friends who have had vaginal births that are in JUST as much pain as a csection... my sister in law couldnt walk straight for 2 weeks after she gave birth vaginally to her son because she ripped so bad
i had a csection with my son & will be having another one with my current pregnancy. as long as you have help & take those pain meds, its not that bad!

Always wanted a C-Section with a singleton -- turned out I'm having twins and getting a c-section anyway.

y know, i just realized you were looking for pros, and i poo-poo'd all over the c/s. sorry :( i can't compare to vag, because i didn't deliver that way. but if i looked at the pros, i would say my baby was perfect. healthy, and perfect. recovery was tough for me because i had no idea what to do/ expect. this time i hope to be different, and take colace long after i leave the hospital. as long as it takes. go easy on myself. get LOTS of help. and enjoy the ride, and non-affected snatch ;)

Of course generally speaking a vaginal birth is the best for our bodies....
I had 2 scheduled C-sections and I'm thankful for them because they are what allowed me to delivery my children safely (1 child was flipped the wrong way, the other tied in the umbilical cord)... I also had great recoveries...

Re: Anyone prefer C-Section to V birth?
Now I'm curious... Bc the c-section doesn't come close at all to that area...maybe she means something internally, like scar tissue? I'm talking about not having to worry about stretching out, scarring, ripping, getting stiches down there, etc.

I have no idea! Nor do I want to know! She tells me wayyyy too much as it is.
I do know that one of her big issues is lack of bladder control.
