Anyone planning on joining mommy groups?
It makes me nervous because I'll be out numbered with the boys. 
Those multiple moms that do it - how do you work the logistics?

There is a twin mommy organization. There is a chapter for Nassau and one for Suffolk.

I'm thinking of joining the Nassau chapter if they'll have me. We live in Western Suffolk and I'd rather drive to Hicksville than Bohemia for the meetings.
Plus my Dad lives in Plainview so I can take care of two things at once.
I think their next meeting is Tuesday. I won't be able to make the Nov one as it's Parent Teacher Night  , they take off for Dec and then there's January.
Anyone want to join me?

They had a meeting yesterday... It's the 3rd Tuesday of the month. I, too, would like to join the Nassau chapter (even though I'm in West. Suffolk also). I'm going to try to get to the November one... if things aren't too crazy.

I wanted to jump in and say that I am a member of the Nassau Chapter and on the Welcoming Committee. If anyone would like to join, or have questions, please feel free to FM me. It really is a nice place to meet other moms going through what you are. Congrats to all the new (and veteran)twin mommies!!

Did you mean like a gymboree or something? I have a lot of friends and family that say they would like to come and be the other adult. Not sure how it would work if there weren't 2 adults there.
As for the twin organizations, depending on how busy things are I would be interested in attending the meetings.

I went to Gymboree and my girls loved it. I went for a trial class and brought my mom with me and the instructor told me that if my mom couldn't come with me she would take one of my girls. I might join..still thinking about it. And the StrollerMamas is good because the babies are in strollers..we love it..I feel good while doing something with my girls. I would be interested in starting our own group too!

Yes, I was thinking of a gymboree thing... I just wonder if it's manageable with 2. It's ideal if someone could always come with me, but it's unrealistic I wish there was a multiples specific group!

A twin-mom friend of mine used those Bumbo seats when her twins were younger. She said its floor based in the beginning months and so the seats worked well during those segments. Im a chicken and so I never tried it, but I can ask around at the club to see how it was managed? There has got to be a way...

I don't think you have to sign up in advance, but I am going to. I have the membership information - if anyone's interested FM me. The membership fee is $27.

The club sends out a newsletter each month before the meeting. Its really well written and that alone is worth the 27$. It has stories and advice from club moms, and it has gently used items that are for sale, and an itinerary for that months meeting. If any one would like the email address for the membership girl, FM me. Im excited that so many of you are interested! I have made some good friends at the club, I really think you will enjoy it!
