Anyone own the new RAV 4?
Thinking this will be our next car and wondering people's opinions. We are most likely going to get the one with the 3rd row seats.

This is what I wanted to get!!!! Instead I got the Mazda 6 because DH didn't like the RAv4... but I test drove it and loved it!

I think the new Rav 4 is so cute, we checked it out at the car show for my Mom and were kinda disappointed with the interior—everything felt very cheap. Unfortunately, they only had a bottom of the line type model on display there so I'm assuming it would be better in one with more options. We also test drove one about two years ago (before the body style change) and were not impressed with the ride, but again, this was before they offered a V6, so could be much better now. Good luck! Car shopping is so fun.

I test drove it a couple of weeks ago and wasn't that impressed. I didn't really like the body style and liked the Honda CRV much better.
It is a little larger, but I can't imagine that the 3rd row seats are too large. The reviews I read said that they were really only good for a small child.

Plus it was very roomy. I was suprised because it looks a lot smaller from the outside.

I also test drove it and liked it. But I also liked the CRV---The new rav4 is about the same size and it also has the 3rd row so I thought that might be the better way to go.

My sister is looking at it quite seriously. I laughed cuz she used to HATE the old one & made fun of our friend who had one (so wrong, I know). I love it & it is a really great truck. toyota trucks are tough to kill
OOh and they get awesome gas milage

Erica, are you thinking of the 4 cylinder or the 6? I think I would still get the Rav4 over almost all of the other small SUVs out there, just liked the Honda better. We ended up not buying either, though, we got a Subaru Forrester instead.

I almost bought one in February. I really liked it, but we ended-up with the Highlander instead. Although the Highlander was more $$ it was much cheaper to insure than the Rav4. Anyway, at the time we were test-driving no 3rd row models were in the area, so I don't know how useful those seats are. I do know that I have gotten 7 adults comfortably in my Highlander and it's only a little bigger than the Rav 4.

I feel a little silly but I cant remember if it was the 4 or the 6 I am guessing 4 because it was probably cheaper but I could be wrong.

That's very intersting that the highlander was cheaper to insure. We went to the dealership with the intent of comparing the two and test driving both. We drove the RAV 4 first and thought that it drove nicely and was big enough to suit our needs and since the highlander was more money we decided that if we are going to go Toyota it will be the RAV 4. I am going to have dh call our insurance guy. Thanks for that tidbit.
