Re: Anyone NOT voting?

Considering it. NY's electoral choice is already made anyway. Still, I feel bad not voting.

Re: Anyone NOT voting?

There are still State and local elections, too. Even if you don't like the Presidential candidates, there are Senators, Congressmen (congresspeople?), town officials, etc.

...and these people probably have more of an impact on your daily life. I would get out and vote.

Re: Anyone NOT voting?

My mom is writing in a president and voting down ballot. She feels strongly that she cannot vote for either.

No! Please vote!!! Yes, the choices for president this year truly suck. But I agree with goldenrod- there are many other races to vote in. Chuck Schumer is up for re election, there are several state senate and assembly races this year.

I hope everyone Googles to research who is on your ballot and vote!!! It's the only way things are ever going to change!

If you don't want to chose either presidential candidate, just vote for the local spots.

This may be a stupid question but how can you find out who is up for election in your area? My google searches aren't really giving me anything.

This!

There are some important elections locally too, not just for president!

I will be excited when the commercials end! Especially since most of the ones I see are for people I can't vote for anyway!

Exactly this! You don't have to choose a presidential candidate, but look out for your own interests and vote for your local politicians. Not voting for THOSE people are exactly why we have so much nonsense in politics. Those are the ones who really impact your daily lives.

I DO NOT want to vote. Even for local, because people keep voting in the same crooks. If I dont this would be a first for me

EVERY vote counts, regardless of you who pick! It always bothers me when I hear people who don't vote complain about the person who was elected. You had a chance to make a difference.

I use to believe every vote counts, and would like to believe it, but I dont believe in early voting. I dont believe they should be discussing the "possible" results by 7 PM when voting goes till 9 PM. I dont believe our system is as democratic or honest as I also felt it was. I feel unhappy, unsettled and my heart just doesn't seem to care. I wish I felt different. I should care about my local elections but dont anymore. We the people get the crap kicked out of us, our voices never get heard at meetings, the cost to live on LI is a disgrace compared to other counties. The elected officials only think short term, this island is going to poop :(

I use to sit on local boards, I was the only female president of a civic, I stepped down a yr ago. It pains me not to care

All of this.
Every single bit.
No one is honest.
No one represents ME and my core beliefs.

When I worked in govt/politics I became so incredibly jaded and saddened. I'm so glad I changed career paths.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
