Re: Anyone looking in Lindenhurst?

Be a bit wary - it's very close to Montauk Hwy, a busy road, it's on Venetian Shores Rd which is very busy on weekends with beach traffic. It's also close to Bergen Point where the town is considering building an incinerator.

However I do have to say, it is a gorgeous house, and I really love living in Lindenhurst.

what is "wrong" with lindenhurst. granted I don't know long island well but i am buying there and would like to know what it is. my gf tells me it's a nice area. and it looks nice. maybe not really a "rich" area but it seems fairly nice.

Also I have friends that live south of Montauk - flooding is a big issue. One of my coworkers spent 3 days bailing out a foot of water out of the bottom floor of her house during a rainstorm last summer.

I live in Lindenhurst, and love it - but I would not live South of Montauk.

nothing except it's too far east for me- I didn't say anything was "wrong" with it- it's just not where I want to live at this point

Re: Anyone looking in Lindenhurst?

If anyone is interested in this house... I was in the area today so I drove by. It's very nicely done. It is two houses from Montauk Hwy, and the street has a double yellow line. Looking at the house, it is closer to the house on it's left than on the right. It has a small backyard. There are a few houses for sale on the street.

Re: Anyone looking in Lindenhurst?

My parents live in this neighborhood, and I grew up there. It's a really nice neighborhood. DH and I have always talked about that house because we thought it looked so different. My parents live right on the water down in that area. They do get flooding and it can be very annoying, however, because this house is near Montauk Hwy it doesn't get the flooding. The houses right down by the water experience the flooding problems in this area. Some houses, if they are very low, get water IN them when flooding is really bad. (This may happen rarely.) My parents had their house raised up after Hurricane Gloria. We had almost 2 feet of water in our house when I was younger due to the hurricane!
