Anyone look at this home in Levittown?

House

I looked at it yesterday with my friends. The house was bought in october 2006 for $370k, and they had to put at least 50 to 60k into it, possibly more.

The entire downstais is white tile. The kitchen has new custom cabinets, new granite counter top - All new Stainless appliances. Everything was replaced.

There are hig hats throughout the house.

In the dining room, living room there is a fireplace, the picture on the internet is wrong. It has slate all around it....really nice.

There are 5 bedrooms. One down stairs and 4 upstairs.

2 New tiled Bathrooms. 1 down, and 1 up. The master is huge.

The backyard was huge. Would have to put up a 6 foot privacy fence all around though. The guy next yard had a lot of clutter in his yard.

The garage was seperate....1.5 car. The driveway, back porch, and front walkway was redone in cement.

The whole front of the house was redone. I looked it up on Nassauproperty.com and it had blue siding.

The taxes are with star.

Really nice house. If Danielle said yes, I would buy it.

I didn't look at it, but I don't love it. It looks like a flip to me & I always have doubts about the quality of the work.
It kinda has that Vinyl McMansion look that all of long island is starting to get, I don't like that.

Re: Anyone look at this home in Levittown?

I am Chat Icon puzzled as to why they put tile throughout most of the first floor, especially when the house is on a slab. It's appropriate for a more tropical/southern climate but it just seems so cold up here. If I was flippin it (and I've done a few flips) I would have went with Pergo.

No railing on the stairs? Not sure if that is even code? That would have only been a few hundred to put in and finish.

Not a fan of the cabinets in the kitchen. I'm pretty sure which brand they are and they don't hold up over the long haul.

The outside of the house is very nice though. Nice choices there. I wonder how insulated the siding is.

Any updates with heating and cooling system or all cosmetic?

Oh and definitely more than 50K was spentChat Icon

Re: Anyone look at this home in Levittown?

I like the tile. I have a levitt now with the laminated floor, and it is a pain to keep clean. Our floor is dark...Lighter is better....

As for the cabinets...They look nice, but I dont know the brand

I emailed the real estate agent to see where the oil tank was, and how old the boiler was too

It was a flip. The house was purchased in october 2006 for $370k.

They really did a nice job on the house...I have looked at a lot of flips, and I have to say this was a really nice house.

No breeze in the house either....It was solid.

The railing isnt a big deal. When we looked at our house, there wasnt one either. If I was the buyer, I would require one put in

I totally agree. I also never understand when someone renovates a home why they skimp on the size of the windows? It seems to happen a lot.

Re: Anyone look at this home in Levittown?

We looked at it on Saturday.

It was very nice, but a bit out of our price range.

Re: Anyone look at this home in Levittown?

Yeah the price was a little high, but it is also 5 bedrooms and totally updated. Not sure about the boiler being replaced, etc...

I dont think it will selll so fast, especially with how the market is now though....

I have 4 houses for sale on my block right now, and one on the block right across from me.....Its crazy

I would buy that house though.....If I didnt already have a house.

Re: Anyone look at this home in Levittown?

Oh - and the tile in the bathrooms isn't even real tile - I can't think of the word right now, but when I tapped on the tiles to actually see if they were real, they sounded like plastic

Re: Anyone look at this home in Levittown?

it looks cosmetically sound but that price is huge! Add the taxes to that..yikes!

For that money you can buy something even better in this market.

They don't look like ceramic or stone in the pics - they look like plastic.

I agree with Kelly...

This is the description from MLSLI
Diamond Rebuild Colonial, Completly Rebuilt 2006,Super Size Property, Stone Front, Near Everything, Must See

So we already see that the windows are not new...wonder what else isn't new on the "completely rebuilt"
not to mention the old siding looks very 1987-1992 on the diagonal like that, bet those casement windows are at least that old. I have 80's Andersen casements in my house & they are starting to get drafty. And those 2nd floor windows would not meet todays egress guidelines, it doesn't matter all that much but I hate flippers that are full of crap.

Was it done in the 80s? No offense to diagonal siding...its just very specific to that period. My house has 80's windows too, I'm not bashing anyone just making a point about this particular house.

I would NEVER buy a flip, we buy AND flip so I KNOW what happens. However we always tell it like it is.
Either its totally rebuilt or not. Leaving 20 yr windows makes it not in my my book.

Re: Anyone look at this home in Levittown?

doesn't impress me in the least

* the width of the property is VERY small (45ft) - blech; not to mention that from the first pic, it looks like the house is sideways, in comparison to the det. garage....Chat Icon

* they probably got the tile on clearance

* counters are cheap - very cheap; about $40 to be exact (for an 8ft piece); backsplash is crap too (isn't that the "iron on" method?

everything else looks builders grade.

I agree with the material being cheap, that is somewhat expected w/flips though, however they should not expect TOP market value with that type of reno.
That house should be priced at $449

not necessarily - a house not too far from me was recently renovated outside...the "new" look they did on the outside: diagonal siding

well maybe its making a comeback or maybe the people that live there still wear slouch socks & keds. My DH had to repair diagonal siding on a house he worked on a couple of years ago & we had to special order it. Chat Icon
