Anyone know current home equity rates?
Are they comparable to mortgage rates?

Depends on what you're getting I think.
Bethpage Federal Credit Union HELOC rate is sitting at 3.99%. Their Home Equity LOAN is much higher.

thanks--- I did find the answer-- and the rates on a home equity float, so it's always at prime. So for a long-term loan, it's not a wise option.
