Current Mortgage Rates
I know they keep changing. We just got 6.2%, does this sound about right for the current mortgage conditions?
PS Am I a fool for trusting a broker? I have used him before...but I always wonder.

I just spoke to a broker and he gave me a high estimate of 6.5, so I think 6.2 sounds about right.

Actually they just came down according to BFCU, my bank. Today's rate with them is 5.875% as opposed to 6% the other day.

My broker said that if the rates go down after you lock in, they can re-lock.

I spoke with HSBC today and she told me they are have .25 off if you sign by the end of the month. We were originally told 6, so that would make it 5.75-5.8.
Oh, the pressure of a deadline....

i'm so happy to read all these numbers!!
i thought i was getting $crewed for some reason. we're at 6.325%, and looking to lock it in next week.

depends on your broker.. just like in every other busines, most are honest, but there are some who are scumbags.

depends on your broker.. just like in every other busines, most are honest, but there are some who are scumbags.
Definitely agree with Lauren. Just be careful of who you go to. Just because they promise a great rate, doesn't mean you'll get it.
