Anyone here ever relocated for a job?

How long did they give you to relocate yourself before your start date? Did they offer some kind of relocation package? If so, what did it include?

Hey love, good thing I was checking FM's today!!

I was moving anyway, but relocated a lot faster for a job.

They gave me almost a month from offer date to start date (and wanted to make it less but I had to work my 2 weeks at my old job plus DH had to give notice at his).

I received a relocation package that paid for part of my moving company's expenses (I would have asked for all of it, but I applied to all jobs stating that I was moving for personal reasons anyway, so it was nice that they gave me anything).

It was given as a "moving bonus" at my 3 month mark.

DH also relocated for a job.

He asked for and got 6 weeks.

No relocation package for him though.

DH and I relocated for DH's job. They wanted us out here asap but it ended up being about a month after the acceptance. I stayed behind to sell the house and tie up loose ends.

They gave us a relocation package that paid for everything. Airline tickets for a house hunting trip, packers, movers, 30 days rent in new location, closing on our old and new house, airline tickets for our final trip here. The only thing that wasn't included was unpacking!

I think it depends mostly on the level of the position.
