Anyone hear this: Moisterizers or Make Up with SPF...
...will clog your pores?
I went into a local boutique looking for moisturizer, and I usually only wear with SPF, in addition to my liquid make-up.
The woman in the store said we should never wear SPF unless we know we are going to be in the sun. I never heard such a thing-- Even 20 mins of sun exposure can be damaging. Needless to say, she didn't have anything with SPF, so maybe she wanted me to buy something.
Anyway-- thought I would post here and ask.

the woman who i get facials from at the red door spa told me i should be wearing spf 15 everyday no matter what. she would know, right?

Sunscreen does clog your pores, but its benefit outweighs that. I would just make sure you wash it off when you are home, and I wouldn't use spf at night.

It does, but I find certain kinds bother me more than others. Cetaphil UVA/UVB Defense SPF 50 made me break out, but Eucerin Everyday Protection Face Lotion SPF 30
& Olay Complete don't.
Regular sunscreen does, so I only wear that if I am going to be outside for extended periods of time, but moisturizer with SPF I wear all the time.

Hmm, my moisturizer has SPF 15, but I'm pretty sure it also says "won't clog pores" or "non-comedogenic" or I wouldn't have bought it... I'll have to check the package tonight and see if I'm imagining things

Um, that sounds false to me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I'm going with the majority on this one...I wear spf 50+ on my face everyday and spf 20 on my body.

As a woman who has had four skin cancers on her face, I say go with the SPF and forget the clogged pores. (I don't buy the clogged pores line anyway, I now wear sunscreen with titanium and zinc on my face everyday under my makeup.)
