Anyone have boxes they'd be willing to part with?

Hi ladies!

We're moving to NC in 3 1/2 weeks, and we're looking for somewhere we can get boxes. I just can't fathom getting them from the moving company at a cost of $175 for 2 rooms!

Anyone have a bunch of boxes they'd be willing to part with?? Chat Icon

I don't have any boxes for you, but I am in the process of moving and if you call the supermarkets, they will hold them on the side for you. Last week when I was in shoprite, I noticed they were stocking the shelves and I got a ton of boxes that way.

Good Luck!

I will check tonight in the basement and see if we have any.

But we got a bunch at Petco, CVS, and a florist (they had a ton- between boxes for vases and fruit boxes).

Re: Anyone have boxes they'd be willing to part with?

I got boxes from Home Depot, Lowes and Stapples (for the smaller boxes). It was much cheaper than moving companies or storage place.

But be careful if you use a lot of different size boxes. They don't stack easy in a truck and take more time to load since you have to make sure the bigger boxes are on the bottom, etc... Plus you have a long trip. Things will shift. So if you can get the same size boxes it's much easier.

Costco sells a moving kit for $60, it has a lot of boxes, 4lbs of packing paper, bubble wrap and tape dispensors.

I think there was a post recently about boxes on sale!!

I'll look & bump.

I used a lot of copy paper boxes from my office. They are easy to pack, stack & not to heavy.

Sorry, sale ended. It was at Office Max. 1/2 off.

Boxes from barnes and noble and borders are really good. They are pretty strong and a decent size.

Fresh direct also uses good boxes.

Used Cardboard Boxes

We just ordered from above. We got them 2 days later (free shipping) and all the boxes are in excellent condition. I'd highly recommend it.

I'd offer up my boxes but I don't know if we'll be unpacked in time for you to use them.

go to a liqour store. The boxes are sturdy, not too big or too small, and often have the dividers which are great for packing glassware!

ask in the dairy section of the grocery store...their egg boxes are THE BEST! They have dividers and are a good size too!

Or, check out craigs list under free, I see boxes on there often

Re: Anyone have boxes they'd be willing to part with?

I don't recomend using boxes from grocery stores because of the food/bug issue. Liquor stores and book stores are the great ideas.
