anyone have an engagement party?
i am throwing one at my house (very casual) for my sister.. do i get favors? any ideas?

I didn't have one, but I've been to a few. The favors are usually edible- one was hershey bars with a custom wrapper the other was a little box filled with m&ms

my parents had one for us at their house in the backyard. My mom made favors that were small claypots with silk flowers in them. She grouped them on each table as a centerpiece and the guests got to take them home after the party.

We had a sunday brunch at a restaurant for our engagement party. We did personalized m&ms in a little box as our favor (mixed with solid colors to offset the cost a bit, the personalized ones can get really expensive!)

we did and we got wedding candles at the dollar store and did the personalized wrapped Hershey bars (DIY, was very easy to do actually).

We did homemade chocolate lollipops in the shape of a rose. Took forever to make, won't do that again.

We had an open house engagement party - people could come and go as they pleased. We didn't do favors as we both thought it was unnecessary.

We had one in a hall. My mom got favors from ebay. They were candle type favors. Prety cheap too.

Our favors were key shaped bottle openers and my mom made chocolate rose lollipops

we had a casual eparty in my parents backyard but it was fully catered with waitstaff, etc. we handed out salt and pepper shaker favors.

We did. It was a small family gathering at a restaurant. It was semi-formal no dj or anything like that. Real nice though

We had one at a restaurant. One of my bridesmaids insisted on making favors. She bought candles from AC Moore and wrapped ribbon around them. I didn't thinkit was necessary, but she really wanted to do it, so we had them.
