Anyone have a VTech answering system andknow how to access messages when you are away from home?

Anyone have a VTech answering system andknow how to access messages when you are away from home?
I know my access code, etc but I dont know how to get to the messages once I call my house and the message comes on..

When the machine picks up, press * and then enter your access code. At least, that is how mine works. (If that doesn't work, press #)

who is your telephone provider? We have OV (cablevision),so we just call the # they provide and enter our phone# and password.

It's not voicemail. It's an answering machine.
