They are expecting 10,000-12,000 people to attend the rally. So I guess he has support on the island, despite how it seems from these boards...

I don't care if it was a candidate I supported and loved 1000% I would NEVER be able to handle crowds like that.
The thought of it alone gives me a rash

The Newsday article mention of 12K people was because that is what the capacity of the venue is, not the expected number.
Expected number may be +/-.
According to him I'm sure there will be 12,000,000 there not 12,000.

Same here. Add in parking and security and protestors and it's going to be a huuuge shitshow! The best kind!

It's already a mess over there. South Oyster Bay Road is closed. We have an office over in Bethpage. Glad I am not there today.

The Patch reported that 18,000 people requested tickets...Supporters are all ready out there and roads are closed...Hopefully there is no violence tonight..

I saw a statistic that he has 56% in NYS right now, Cruz & Kasich were both around 18/19% each. I was SHOCKED to see those polling figures. I can't believe he has such a following in New York, especially at this stage of the game with all of the insane things he's said!

This is surprising to you? He's from NY. We have grown up with him. It's like Bush and Texas. I get it, but I can't believe it...
That being said, if you actually look at Trump he's kind of left leaning, which appeals to NY Republicans. Cruz and Kasich do not fit in here.
I don't like Trump at all but I get why NYers like him.
Nate Silver is predicting a contested convention even more. It's looking more likely now, with regards to delegate numbers. I'm really wondering what Trump is going to do when he is not nominated. It's too late to run independent now. Who will he endorse? Will he make it an even bigger show?

DH just came home from the city via the Bethpage train station and said it was a mess.i guess they are bussing people from the train parking lot. Lots of people with Trump supporter t-shirts on. To which I responded " so their shirts said I'm a racist"?

I don't think people have even listened to Kasich and like the reality show drama of the other 4 candidates. This is normal life now for the younger crowd.

A snipet of this speech a appeared on my wall via CNN. People are chanting build the wall. Are people really supporting this man over his claim to build an fing wall on Mexico border?! Do people really think a wall is going to stop them from coming? How big is he planning on building this wall? People actually believe it's going to happen if he does get elected.  these people are fing morons if they really think it will happen. And I am still baffled how any self respected women supports this man!

Nope I work over there traffic was a nightmare I left work early to avoid the traffic- roads were closed etc it was nuts. I would NEVER go
