Re: Anyone ever travel on Royal Caribbean?

Great ship

It's part of the voyager family. It's a 6 year old ship but has a lot of great features such as a rock climbing wall, ice skating rink, miniture golf course and in line skating.

I like RCCL. I'm actually going on an RCCL cruise at the end of September. I am going on the majesty.

Re: Anyone ever travel on Royal Caribbean?

After working with American Express Travel, I do know that RC is one of the higher end cruise lines. If that helps..

Re: Anyone ever travel on Royal Caribbean?

we traveled on Royal Caribbean, Adventure of the Seas on our honeymoon.
It was amazing. The travel agent told us that it was among the top three cruise lines.
Service was amazing, food was good and the ship was gigantic.

Re: Anyone ever travel on Royal Caribbean?

Can I ask how much everyone approximately had for spending money? We are not big drinkers but we would like to do some excursions.
Unfortunately, we will have to use our cc for most of the things because we were not prepared for this!! We usually save for awhile when we plan a vacation but my dh will not get paid for the week so I will have to use our savings for that!

We LOVE RCCL. DH & I went to Alaska on one of their ships for our honeymoon. We have nothing but good things to say. We are actually leaving on Saturday to go to the western caribbean on Navigator of the Seas (sister ship to Explorer). I am so excited!! You will have a great time. We needed probably about $1,000 cash, but we went all out, massages, lots of drinks, pictures, casino, excursions, etc.

Re: Anyone ever travel on Royal Caribbean?

We just went on that ship in June...the food was EXCELLENT....and you could eat ALL DAY long if you wanted to..

There was a decent amount of stuff to do...casino that had table games including poker, one club, lots of bars and lounges throughout, a library & internet room, ice skating, movie theater, and shows almost every night that were actually really good..

Just beware that the rooms without balconies are small..Also, the pool area gets crowded FAST...One other negative is that we always had problems getting room service late at night...they would never answer the phone..

Congrats and have fun!!Chat Icon

ETA: we actually just got our bill and it was approx. $1200..we had lots of drinks and bought alcohol to take home, massages, bought a watch etc..this amount doesn't include what we spent on the islands..which wasn't a lot at all

Thanks. I know we brought $1000 for our last cruise but that was over 10 years ago! My neighbor just told my dh that they spent $1,500 ALONE on drinks!! We are not that big of drinkers though. We are more social drinkers and don't drink all day.

Re: Anyone ever travel on Royal Caribbean?

I've been on three RC cruises. I loved each one and have no complaints. I'm about to plan anoter cruise for next year. I'm so used to RC I don't know what to expect if I go with another cruise line.

Umm 1500! That is a lot of drinks and massages...lol.

This might help - http://cruiseclues.com/
That sight has menus (drink menus too) - if you don't drink much you probably want to get a drink card - the rule of thumb is that usually they are cheaper if you are planning on having at least 2 sodas a day. Alcohol (non drink of the day) runs about $5-10 a drink depending on what you have -

What really kills you are the shore excusions - which run about $50 pp and up - depending on what you do - some are very expensive others are more reasonable.

Check out this site you can get all the information that you could possible want/need
