anyone ever heard of wearing
something really tight around the tummy after birth to help the uterus and belly go back down quicker???
Of course if u have a c-section this wouldnt work until you're incision is healed.
Do you think the belly band would work?

Yeah, someone recommended the belly bandit to me. The bella band could work too. My mom swears by an old fashioned girdle post birth.

Re: anyone ever heard of wearing
I had a c-section with my son, and will again with my twins. When I was in recovery, the nurse put something like that on and I kept in on the whole time I was in the hospital. I would have brought it home to continue using it (it helped support my back, too), but it was pretty gross after my hospital stay. I think this time, I will ask for another one to bring home with me.

Re: anyone ever heard of wearing
I went to sports authority and purchased a $10 velco back brace thingy.... the size is adjustable, and it was comfy enough, and great while out walking... I used it after DD was born.
and for $10, I thought it was worth it. and I wasn't crying over spending too much when I didn't wear it as much as I thought I would.

Re: anyone ever heard of wearing
Medela makes a post-partum belt that's about $20 and velcros around your waist. I used that for the first week or 10 days or so PP and it was great to have some extra support for my back and holding my belly in. It was definitely worth a few dollars to me. I wish I'd gotten a smaller size, though, because once the PP bloat went down, I couldn't really use it anymore.

Re: anyone ever heard of wearing
I registered for the belly bandit, but haven't had my shower yet so I can't say whether is works or not. While I was in the hospital my mom picked up underwear from Motherhood Maternity for me. They are compression underwear and kind of like spanx. So far I LOVE them and feel like my stomach has gotten a lot tighter even in just 7 days. An added bonus is that I think they helped my uterus constrict faster and they hold all the pantiliners in well. I highly recommend everyone pick some up especially for while you are in the hospital.

same here. I did bring mine home and used it. It helped to keep the belly from flapping around and hurting the incision.

OMG best thing ever for after a c-section. It provides support on your sides so you don't have to tighten your belly muscles and the incision to get up! I wore it for 3 wks post-pg and it did help with my belly tightening.

Re: anyone ever heard of wearing
very useful info.. thanks ladies. do you buy two sizes or just one size and adjust it as needed? i saw something like this before.. you can tighten it every couple of days as your tummy shrinks..
