Anyone ever have this happen while watching a dvd???
We were watching an animated movie dvd with DS the other day. He kept asking what was beeping - neither DH nor I heard any beeping. We thought something in the house was beeping but it was on the dvd. It was like beeps that only DS (8 y/o) could hear but adults couldn't. What could be the purpose of this?

Could he have tinnitis? I really don't think there are beeps in movies that only children can hear.

He does hear them because we would stop the movie, rewind, and ask him to tell us when he heard them. Then we'd rewind again and again and he would hear them at the same time. When the dvd was stopped, he didn't hear any beeps and when we were done with the movie, he didn't hear any more beeps. It was very strange - never happened before. And he was definitely not kidding.

This happens to me all the time - I can hear beeps and patterns in the background of movies, or sometimes just in white noise, that no one else can. Maybe it's just extra-sensitive hearing?

Just played the mosquito tones without asking him and he said "what was that noise?" Guess the same type thing is on the dvd - I just don't know the purpose.
