anyone not doing a class and watching a dvd?
dh and i have very hectic and opposite schedules and we are already signed up for 3 other classes we want to take and we were thinking about skipping lamaze and just watching a dvd on it (it's a 4 1/2 hr. dvd.)
anyone else do this? is this a really bad idea? any input welcomed!

DH and I watched the DVD. For me, it was fine. The nurses were there to help me too. It was fine and Im glad I didnt spend the money on classes.

I didnt take a class nor watch a video and I was fine. Like Kathy said Im glad I didnt spend the $$$.
The nurses are there and were great support

I was going to do Lamaze, however, with our schedules it was crazy. I did a woman who said "Your a little late"..LOL
Oh well, even my sister said don't waste your money. We are going to get a DVD and Im hoping and praying nurses will be good support as well.
Did any of you deliver at Huntington?

I agree with what everyone above said. I delivered at Huntington. The DVD was VERY informative for us and I can't imagine learning any more from a live class.

Everyone that I've spoken to has told me its a waste, that when the time comes you don't remember anything you learned. Personally we MIGHT watch the video or skip it entirely

we'll probably just get a video. With DH's schedule he wasn't going to be able to make any of the classes, and i didn't really wnat to go without him.

thanx for your replies ladies! i feel beter about our decision.
the dvd i got is "laugh and learn about childbirth; lamaze and beyond".
i got it online at barnes and nobles. i hear the person on the dvd is very annoying but it is informative. i'll watch it soon and let u guys know how it is.
