anyone ever drain a pool?

We need to drain our pool and refill it. i was just wondering if anyone has ever done this.
My concern is the neighbors may complain. Should i be concerned?
But it is a swamp in there and it needs to be emptied and refilled with clean water!

yes, we pull the hose all the way to the storm drain to do it so that the road does not flood with the muck.

are you sure it cant be shocked?

if not, we had to drain our pool last year to get a new liner. the pool guy ran the pump over night into the street. no one complained but if the town had come by we could have been fined. does your neighborhood have a sewer system? if so, could you run the hose right into the sewer? we ran ours onto the drainage thing on the side of the street.

so what if there is no sewer drain on the block?!
I just drove around the block and there is none!
there is one two blocks away!
So where is the water going to go?
When it rains the water has to go somewhere right?

just shock it - don't drain unless you have it

we drained ours about 3 years ago when we put up the new pool. we drained it right into the trees behind the house. didnt have a problem.
