Pool Owners...

Mainly above grounders:

How do you get the pile of leaves and tub of water off the cover before taking it off? Im looking for an easy way.

We had a float thing in the center but I think it had a hole in it cause it's no longer thereChat Icon

Re: Pool Owners...

My father takes out the pool skimmer and takes the leaves out that way.

As far as the water goes he syphons (sp) the water out with a old watering hose.

We bought a long handled broom type thing and push them off. Dh does it every so often so it's not piling up too badly.

We tried that new (I don't know, is it new?) cover this year that self drains, no pillow in the middle. So it's pretty easy to just push things off the top.

Re: Pool Owners...

you can get a leaf net from a pool store -- it's like a skimmer but with a big scoop. then use a pump to get the water off. it's kind of a pain in the neck but the best way to do it.

That's a great idea or they sell these pump type things that sit on the top of the cover and pump the water off the cover. You would have to manually clear the leaves though. I think Island Rec sells them for like less than $30.00
