Anyone else with bad Edema?
The swelling is really bad. I stopped commuting to work this week (34 weeks) because it is too uncomfortable to drive or walk with my Fred Flintstond feet and legs. My legs seriously look like tree trunks. My pants are tight. I have no knees and my legs are tender to the touch. Am I the only one this bad? Any suggestions on how to ease swelling other than fluids and keeping my feet up? Nothing is working.

Yes. I borrowed a home machine but I am all over the place. I am sure although hoping not that I am heading in that direction.

I had this with my first. Nothing helped. Even if i got a chance to put my feet up, within minutes of being up, the swelling was back. I had to buy triple wide old lady sandals with a velcro strap because nothing else would fit my feet. Lol However, my BP was always normal.

Re: Anyone else with bad Edema?
I had this. It was awful. Although I had slightly elevated BP my whole pregnancy, it never was pre-e. My BP was controlled with meds and they did a few 24 hour urine collections just to make sure. But I never had protein in my urine and I never had headaches, vision loss etc. The swelling was chalked up to the pregnancy. My feet were so bad I coudln't even wear flip flops. It looked like something out of National Geographic. I drank over a gallon of water a day, I avoided sodium, I eleveated my feet practically over my head, I iced my ankles- NOTHING helped. The day after I gave birth I peed for about 20 minutes - no joke- all the fluids were just coming out. In less than a week I was able to see my ankle bones for the first time in months and I actually cried.

Oh I hope this is me!!! Thankfully so far I haven't had to collect my urine. Hopefully this stays that way. I am thinking having two babies is what is causing this. Can't wait to see my ankles and not have my legs hurt when I touch them or walk or sit or do anything!!

Anyone else with bad Edema?
I had this to with my pregancy. I started swelling in my second trimester. By my third trimester I was exactly as you are. By 39 weeks they induced me because my BP elevated and there was protein in my urine. I feel your pain the swelling is so uncomfortable. Just put your feet up as much as possible and drink lots and lots of water :)

Same here. I had terrible swelling and ended up with severe pre-e and gave birth 6 weeks early. My legs were like tree trunks and I could barely wear shoes anymore. Even my slippers were too tight. However, I didn't have any other symptoms (high bp, protein in urine) during my entire pregnancy until I started having chest pains. That's when I went to the hospital and was told I had to deliver. So not to scare you, but if you start having any type of chest pain or trouble breathing, make sure to call your doc.
