Anyone Else Shopping Like Crazy

for your DC? I seriously cannot help myself. I have bought so much clothes and stuff for DD that it is so ridiculous. My friends and family members are getting royally pizzed at me. They are complaining that if I go out and buy all these what the hell are they to buy me for my shower.

Please tell me I am not the only going nuts shopping for my DD.

Re: Anyone Else Shopping Like Crazy

Are you buying larger things, like 3-6 month and up? Then no, you're not shopping too much.

Stay away from the NB and 0-3 stuff- you'll get tons of that for your shower. I have 27 onesies ranging from NB-3 months alone, plus like 30 little 0-3 dresses/outfits- NONE of which I bought on my own.....

ETA: I have gone crazy buying bigger things for next spring/summer. Oh, and wee little shoes and sandals. I got a pair of baby Uggs too....

I bought tons of different stuff. Clothes, shoes, vintage tea set to display on a shelf in her nursery, strollers, a bracelet for her, and lots more.

I haven't, YET. Yesterday in baby fortunoff I bought the cutest little white leather shoes in size 1... I had to have them. But I also had to hold myself back from buying a ton of other stuff!!. I just feel like I'm going to get a lot at my shower and I don't want to have too much stuff when the baby comes KWIM?

Re: Anyone Else Shopping Like Crazy

I haven't really shopped at all. So far I have gotten 3 lil outfits in larger sizes. I really can't begin to guess what size my son will be, prob. extra large, LOL. So I guess I will just have to wait and see.

My DD was the first grandchild on both sides -- I barely had to buy any clothes before 3T! Save those receipts!

If you buy clothes buy for up to 3months. Most of the time you will get clothes as gifts from 6 months and up. or 3-6 month.
edited to say I didnt buy anything only b/c I and DH are superstitious

Funny. The opposite happened to me. I have a TON of 3-6 clothes + from my shower and I got very little 0-3 and NO newborn. I had to go buy that stuff myself and DS is 7 weeks tomorrow and still in newborn and he is almost 10lbs!

ETA: I wouldn't buy a ton of summer stuff with the intenion of using it next summer. How do you know the sizes will work? If it is something you LOVE then go for it, but I wouldn't shop the sales.

Someone bought me the cutest one piece outfit in 6-9 months, well if DS is true to size then he won't be in 6 month clothes til November and this very summery. Oh well, we are going on a cruise, hopefully he can wear it then.

I did that with my DS and learned my lesson. He had so much stuff for up to 3-6 months that I just put it on him once so he actually wore it. This time around even though it is so hard since we are having a girl I am being good and just buying the basics and hope that people will buy other clothes items since I am not having another shower.

Re: Anyone Else Shopping Like Crazy

Surprisingly enough, no! I havent bought anything except the bedding and crib and a couple of stuffed animals.

I have been so busy at work, we just moved, and I havent had much time for myself and my shopping habit.

ETA: We are also not finding out the sex, so that takes away some of the fun!! And since I am due on Oct, I want to wait until the fall/winter stuff comes out.

Re: Anyone Else Shopping Like Crazy

I really tried to hold myself back until I had the shower bc I was having 100 people there so everyone was saying I would get alot of clothes. I got tons there - and now I just can't stop myself. I am set from 0-6 months pretty much so now I focus on 9-18. It's truly an addiction!

So for all you shoppers - go to Dennys - there is a HUGE sale there now. Chat Icon

the only thing stopping me is that we don't know the gender. i have bought some gender-neutral stuff but that's not as much fun as the stuff you're buying! in stead i just keep buying maternity clothes which is a huge waste of money!
