Anyone else scared?
I am trying SO hard to enjoy this time in my life. I know how special it is and I really want to appreciate every moment. But, I am so terrified that I will m/c. I know that's a normal feeling for many women, but how do you deal with it? I think part of the reason I am scared is because it took us a while to get to this place (IVF) and I feel like it's all too good to be true.

At times, yes. I really try to keep my brain as preoccupied as possible though. It's not that hard at least with my crazy job!

Re: Anyone else scared?
the only way I really dealt with it was just to take one day at a time. Do things to keep your mind busy. Both really - it is totally normal. I am 38 1/2 weeks and I still freak if I dont feel the baby move all the time.
Also - you will feel a little less paranoid once you get to the point where the baby is moving.

Re: Anyone else scared?
I've never been so scared in my life. My last pregnancy ended in miscarriage at just over 5 weeks. I'm now 6 weeks or so & I'm constantly freaking out. I don't think I could emotionally handle another miscarriage. I get more scared each passing day because I feel like the father along I am when it happens, the more heartbreaking it will be. I am not enjoying this at all.

Re: Anyone else scared?
I was so scared... My fear of having a m/c has gotten much better; after we heard the heartbeat my nerves relaxed much more.
In the beginning, I played the "cautiously optimistic" card for a long time because I was convinced, due to my bad thyroid problem, that I wouldn't stay pregnant.
At almost 16 weeks, I'm finally able to calm down and relax a bit.
It will get easier .

Re: Anyone else scared?
I was terrified in the begining as well. I just had to keep reassuring myself. After the 12 week mark, I started to relax and enjoy what was happening. I am glad I did because I love feeling little boy inside of me. Whenever your mind starts to run wild, try to think positively.

Re: Anyone else scared?
I am still scared everyday, but I try not to let it consume me thoughts. I am trying to enjoy the miracle that's going on. Now that I can feel her moving, it's a little easier and reassuring. But what you're feeling is completely normal. Relax and enjoy every single day of your pregnancy!

Re: Anyone else scared?
I think I'll be able to relax after I hear the heartbeat(s). I am only 5w3d, so I have another week and a half before my first sono. The wait is killing me. I am so scared of having the sono and not seeing/hearing a heartbeat. I feel like it's almost abnormal how scared I am

Re: Anyone else scared?
I had a bleeding incident at 5.5 weeks that scared the cr@p out of DH and me.... I was paranoid from that point all the way until I could feel scone regularly giving me swift kicks (around 24 weeks).
I also developed a paranoia in my 2nd trimester that I may have an incompetent cervix or placenta previa (with no evidence, of course )
Those were the first questions I had after the level II.... where's the placenta, and what does my cervix look like?
At 32 weeks, I'm now beginning to chill a bit. likely becuase I know that Scones chances of survival are now pretty good....

Im scared of other things, money, sanity, time, ect. I have m/c before and come to terms with the fact that it is out of my hands completely.

Re: Anyone else scared?
Yes, I think we all worry about it My Dr told me that once we pass the 9 week mark the m/c rate drops too, so at least you can feel better before 12 weeks!!!
I'm preggo w/#2 and I still feel like how can this be happening a 2nd time!! Its definitely too good to be true!!!
Just try not to think about it and hopefully the first tri will pass quickly!!

Re: Anyone else scared?
I'm in the same boat as you, kiddo!!! I think about it alot, and it makes it worse when I read stories of m/c happening with such alarming frequency. This Monday, I have my 2nd u/s (I'll be almost 7 weeks)......once I see the heartbeats, I hope I will feel better. Of course, my mother reminding me that my SIL had a m/c at 9 weeks didn't help. I know she didn't mean any harm, but.......!!

Re: Anyone else scared?
I was terrified until 13 weeks, then it got better only to have a bleeding episode that week. Then I rented a doppler and I listened to them every day and theat helped a LOT! Now I only listen every few days. You can try that once you get to 10 weeks or so. I just tried to stay positive and picture my babies being born. Try some positive visualization
