Anyone else get depressed at how early it gets dark out these days?

I swear since we changed the clocks I am in this funk that starts at about 4 pm.
I work until 5:30 and it is PITCH black out when I leave.
I feel like I'm working until 8 pm or something.
Once it gets dark outside my window I just get in such a funk.

I HATE this time of year!

Yes, I hate getting out of the office in the dark. I also feel like I have less time to do things when I get home. Very depressing! My DH, on the other hand, loves it and the cold weather! I call him Dracula!

Where I live it starts to get dark at about 3.30 pm, it doesn't bother me all that much. In the summertime it stays light out until 11 pm, so its a tradeoff.

Yes, so depressing, when I get home I feel like bedtime is right around the corner.

i hate it... i have been in a slump since this weekend. I feel so tired and such a bumb it is horrible!

Try and look on the bright side of things - at least it's not pitch black in the morning when you have to get up!
To me, that trade off is well worth it.
Last week, getting up at 7 in the pitch black was absolute torture to this non morning person. Now that the clocks have changed, it's light in the morning and makes it so much easier!

I get out of work around 6:30 every day, so it really doesn't bother me that its dark. To me it makes winter more cozy. And it makes for such a great contrast when it finally does start to get lighter earlier in the afternoon for springtime.

I absolutely hate it.

Its depressing & its way too long. I wish it were April.

There is nothing fun about winter...

Not really depressing but I can't get the motivation to do things when I get home now. Being that it's so dark and cold when I leave work, I just want to lay on the couch with DH and watch TV.

No, I'm so happy because when I go to run in the morning it is light out. It does wonders for my motivation. I don't care that it's dark when I come home. I used to dread running before the sun came up. So for me this is great.

Yes, I hate this time of year...between the darkness and the weather getting colder, all I want to do is hide in my house until March or April.

yes! By 4:00 when the sun goes down I feel so blah.

Yes. I hate it. I've even wondered once or twice whether I have seasonal affective disorder, because I feel so down and tired and unmotivated when I don't see enough of the sun.

YES! I hate how dark it is all the time, I am sleepy all afternoon. I need sunshine, I'm getting depressed!!!!

ughh..me too!

im on maternity leave now, but when i was working i would leave in the dark and come home in the dark...totally sucks.

Yes, and I can't wait for next Summer since we got cheated on the one this year.

I honestly believe I get bouts of seasonal depression I HATE THIS TIME OF YEAR! It's soooo the calm before the storm!

Once the holiday season picks up and there's cheery music on the radio, I feel like it picks up a little... but then after NYE, it's right back into the slump....... and by February I just feel like saying enough is enough already!!!! Hopefully it won't be that bad of a winter!

I have heard that these artificial sun lights are fantastic for dealing with SAD. It might be worth while getting your hands on one for the office or the house.

Yes. Compounded by the lack of sleep since it is affecting DS as well

Me!! Even though I love the fall, I hate that it gets so dark so early. I work from home 7:30-6 and I feel that I will never see daylight

Me too. I love everything about the fall except that it gets dark so early.

It's dark when I leave for work at 6:30, and dark when I get home from school at 10:30. I feel like a vampire.
