Anyone do a post-coital test?
Dr. Brenner wants me to do one this month. I am at the very beginning of this process. I have been TTCing for six months. Cycles are regular; no problem with ovulation. Sperm analysis revealed no problems. All blood tests have been normal. All genetic tests normal. I am 30 years old.
He said if the post-coital is abnormal, he will start me on Clomid for a IUI cycle. If it is normal, he will have be do a HSG and then clomid. I am praying it is abnormal....don't want the HSG.
For those of you who had the post-coital, did you learn anything from the results?

if Bxgell2 doesn't see this, FM her - i know she had a post coital recently and it revealed hostile CM, she will be able to give you some info

Yes I had two of them and they were abnormal....it showed there wasn't much sperm from DH. After DH had addtional testing we found we are dealing with Male Infertility.

yes I learned that my "environment" is like making DH's sperm swim through molasses (those were the drs words)

This is the 1st test I was supposed to have done but it never worked out for us...too much pressure or something but DH couldn't do it 
I had to cancel it a few times.

I had one also and learned Dh's swimmers were a bit on the slow side.
It's a good test to get along with the HSG.

Yup, I "failed" two post-coitals,which led to a diagnosis of "hostile cervical mucous". It could be just a mucous issue, or it could be that either Dh or I have developed antibodies to his sperm. We didn't bother exploring further the real issue, as IUI bypasses the entire issue anyway.

Thanks for the information ladies! I have the test in less than two weeks. I will update you with the results when they are in.
