Re: Anyone dealing with PCOS?
i have PCOS as well as a whole bunch of fertility issues
i just got my bfp and for us it took 2 and a half yrs and after a bunch of other methods,3 losses we got it with ivf
now after saying that pcos can vary so much from person to person and my symptoms u might not have and vice versa so please do not be discouraged
what symptoms do yo have
my best advice would be if u r ttc go straigh to a RE instead of a ob bc they can better treat you
best of luck and fm me anytime!

Re: Anyone dealing with PCOS?
My RE thinks that I have it, but after reading the symptoms I don't think I do. I feel like that's the catch all they throw people in, and I'm nervous to take the meds she wants to put me on

Re: Anyone dealing with PCOS?
I have PCOS - we just recently started to PCOS. I was on birth control until about 5 months ago. 5 months later, my ovaries are still "sleeping" according to my doctor. So, I'm monitoring my fertility/ovulation very closely and need to start taking pre-natal vitamins. We'll see how it goes. Doctor wants me to do this for a few months and then see what next steps are.

Re: Anyone dealing with PCOS?
PCOS is actually very common and one of the 'easiest' things to treat as far as attaining a pregnancy is concerned. The problem is that many times, PCOS comes along with other issues.
For me, I have PCOS, thrombophelia issues... bad luck.... and ultimately, I am in need of a gestational carrier (surrogate) in order to get my family. However, I am not the norm.

Re: Anyone dealing with PCOS?
i was diagnosed with PCOS as well and after trying clomid (unmonitored) with my OBGYN for 2 months and i've already started seeing my RE and we are going through our first IUI (hopefully ) this month.
They say, that PCOS is usually the easiest thing to treat when it comes to fertility, its just the way it affects you and what will work with you.

Re: Anyone dealing with PCOS?
I was diagnosed 5 years ago with it, but I was a little overweight. I have lost 30 pounds since then, and the pcos pretty much "went away" for me or it's being kept at bay bc of the weight loss and eating healthy.
I get my period every month now, HOWEVER, I also have endometriosis (just found out through a Lap surgery last month) so I still need to take Clomid and do an IUI to help my chances.

Re: Anyone dealing with PCOS?
Ladies thank you all for your replies. I'm going to speak to my OB about options. Not sure IUI and IVF are an option because our insurance doesn't over any of IF issues and we do not have that kind of money saved for a cycle :-/

Re: Anyone dealing with PCOS?
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 12 yrs old by my pediatrician...I have some common symptoms like my LH:FSH ratio, excess hair and cysts on my ovaries...I also do not get my period regularly...however I am not insulin resistant and my LH is not too high...I did 2 cycles of timed intercourse and clomid plus 2 cycles IUI + clomid and now 2 more cycles of femara + IUI and all BFN's...my RE has me on synthroid for a slight thyroid issue and metformin even though my sugars are ok he said it can help patients with PCOS...we are currently on our 5th IUI cycle and we are now exploring the IVF option.
I would def recommend seeing an RE if you have PCOS they are trained to deal with endocrine issues which PCOS is...my RE said that ob/gyn's help you stay pregnant while the RE's job is to get you pregnant.
Good luck!!
