Anyone Been to Mesa Grill
DH just told me this is where he's taking me for my B-Day. I do NOT like spicy food AT ALL, not even a little spicy. From watching the food network I see that he likes to add chile in a lot of his cooking. Is most of his menu comprised of spicy food? I really don't want to waste time or money if I'm not going to enjoy my meal. Any info would be great thanks!

DH and I went to the one in Vegas. We still talk about how good the food was. Honestly though...it's very spicy. Everything has spice to it.....even desserts.
I am not a HUGE fan of spicy food and I could handle everything that I ordered, but DH got a steak that was SO SPICY one bite made my mouth burn for the rest of the meal.
If you really hate spicy food I would suggest trying a different place b/c it's not cheap and it would be a shame for you to not enjoy what you are paying for.

I went to the one in the Bahamas--I know I had the Pork and it was DELISH but I can't remember if it was spicy at all?

I went years ago. I don't remember it being spicy but I do remember it being just OK. I thought Bar Americain was much better though to be honest there are a lot of NYC chefs better than Flay.

I love love love Mesa Grill! Everything has a kick, but not to the point where you would hate it IMO. You can always ask the waiter which items are not spicy. If you don't want Mesa Grill, go to Bar Americain. There are a lot of non spicy items on that menu.

This is where we ate too, a few times and it isn't spicey at all, at least the pork wasn't.

Keep in mind a lot of chilis are spicy, meaning flavorful but not necessarily HOT. Example - Cumin - do you like the flavor of this? Or Cinamon is considered spicy but not a hot spicy. KWIM
If you do decide to go, I would discuss your preferences with your waiter who can help you pick dishes that aren't as spicy.
You might be more limited than somewhere else, if you really don't like any heat at all. I know we had a chile relleno that wasn't spicy as a side and it was delish.

Yes, a few times but not recently. One time, Bobby Flay was there himself. It's fancy tex mex. There are definitely non spicy items. The pomegranate margarita is YUMMY!

I haven't been in a few years, but we have gone a few times. I don't remember it being spicy, but I don't mind spicy food either... We love his Margaritas though. Enjoy!
