Any tips for rolling over?
Anthony is 3 1/2 months and could care less about rolling over. I know the ped is going to lecture me. When we do tummy time, he just lays there face down screaming (even though he can lift his head perfectly) and kicking his legs like a mad man He stands all the time and already tries to sit up, just no interest in rolling over. Any tips or advice?

Kaydyn HATED being on her stomach and actually learned to roll from her back to her belly first and then would scream bloody murder. We didn't do a lot of tummy time and she still managed to roll over around the time she should have.

OMG mine's the same age and does the SAME. I admit I rush in and rescue him, I can't stand the site of him face down and flailing for help. Like this, but face down 
I notice when I have him on the changing table though he's *starting* to roll a teeny bit (I'm using that safety strap RELIGIOUSLY now)...

Rylan also learned back to belly first. We would lay him on his back and push his hiney over...almost rolling him just so he started to get the feel of it.

DS is the same age and has NO interest in rolling over. He will do tummy time happily for 15-20 min, but just has no desire to roll  I think it's still a little early to worry- at least I'm not

it is early for roiling over..most babies (not all as some will do it earlier or later) tend to be b/t 5-6 months and the average goes even up to 7 months

That's good to know. I'm happy he isn't rolling- I don't have to worry AS much when he is on the changing table. Once he starts rolling I'll have to break out the straps and I'm not looking foward to that!!

DD rolled over from back to belly first at 5 months. I wouldn't worry about - it's still really early.

AJ isnt rolling over yet or even TRYING and she's over 4months..
at my 4month check in .. doc asked me and when I said no.. she did NOT seemed concerned at all!

My ds is 4 months and hasn't rolled over. The ped wasn't concerned at all - she said by 6 months he should be rolling over. No need to worry as long as lo is growing and getting stronger

dd is a lil over 4 months too and isnt doing it either...ped said not to worry also so im not

Don't stress about it.
They say that due to more babies sleeping on their backs, the average age for rolling over is more like 6 months.
Although DD doesn't know that. She's 7.5 months and has only rolled belly to back a handle full of times. She also has no interested rolling back to belly. She can roll to her side though. Plus she's sitting on her own and standing with only holding on for balance.

You can train them to use their own muscles. In other words, turn her on her side, but not the whole way and you may wish to wedge something under him so he's "almost" there and let him go the rest of the way on his own. You may also want to increase the amount of time he does it with each session of tummy time you have with him so he can tolerate it better. I did that with Abby and she turns from her back all the way over on her left side. Now we are working on her right side and she's getting close.
